Mr. Adam Schneider joined our staff in 2007 as Organist/Choirmaster. He is currently a student of Dr. Mark Steinbach, University Organist at Brown, and Music Director of St Paul’s Church, Wickford. Formerly, he studied with Mr. Patrick Campbell, currently the Director of Music at St. Paul’s Church in Pawtucket.

Prior to his coming to St. Mark’s, Adam was Organist and Choir Director of both Trinity Episcopal Church in Stoughton MA, and  at St. Peter’s and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Providence. A life long Episcopalian, Adam is a parishioner of S. Stephen’s Church, Providence; a church known for its fine liturgy and music.

He has performed in numerous master classes for the American Guild of Organists, was a counselor and music director at the Episcopal Conference Center and completed one year of the Leadership Program of Church Musicians.  Adam Schneider’s email address is: aschneider@stmarksriverside.org

A message from the Music Director

I  encourage people in the church to take interest in our our historic pipe organ .  It is an integral part of our worship that should be preserved for many generations.  Pipe organ builders are slowly diminishing and organists are a dying breed.  I hope a young musician in our parish will consider learning how to play this fine instrument.

Preservation of this organ is very important.  Although the console is over 100 years old, it was installed in the church thirty years ago, and with a little time and money it can last for generations to come.

I have recorded a CD of music performed on our church organ.  It is a wonderful selection of several pieces and is available for purchase at $10.00.  A  few short audio samples from the CD can be heard HERE.  Proceeds from the sale of the CD will benefit our organ fund for needed repairs and improvement to our aging console. Please help support this important part of our worship.  When repairs have been finished a memorial plaque will be added listing donations given in memory of loved ones.

This project, like others helps St Mark’s to grow as a parish family and community.  I am fortunate to have been welcomed into our congregation look forward to continued growth during the coming years.

With much respect and prayer
Adam
